By this saying it’s visible that we need to take really good care of our mental health in order to have a good physical health. Mental health and physical health, both are linked with each other. Like we face many hard situations in our daily life, sometimes we become too stressed out by the things that our body slows down, our brain functioning is slowed down and we need some break to relax our mind and get back to the track again.
This is why our brain functioning needs to be good going otherwise our body will not be able to perform normal routine tasks properly. If we fill our body with a healthy food then we are giving it the most suitable fuel which will make it function properly not only physically but also mentally. Food which is high in minerals, vitamins and antioxidants will be best for our brain. Everything we eat interacts with our brain chemicals and it affects our brain functioning. For example, if we eat food which is high in sugar will impair the brain functioning and mental health. On the other, many people have got help from their nutrition to overcome depression and anxiety like illness. Foods rich in omega 3 and omega 6 are really effective to reduce depression levels.

First of all you need to cut increased intake of sugar and processed foods which are just a disaster for ourmental health. Intake of fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, saturated fats and minimum amount of sugar are good for brain health. These will not only boost your mood and brain functioning but also protect against fatigue. You can add broccoli, blueberries, avocados, almonds, eggs, fish and dark chocolate into your diet and you will be amazed by the results they will have on your brain functioning. So start eating different regardless of how they will taste and start seeing different impacts on your functioning.
How fitness is related to mental health:
Fitness is being physically able to do certain tasks without having fatigue. It means that you have good physical health and you are fit to perform any task easily. Physical activities are considered to be very helpful for your well-being. Doing any exercise improves your mood and prevents you from getting mental health issues. Physical activities are said to be really helpful in reducing anxiety or depression. Doing regular exercise provides better blood supply to all of your brain regions, increases the neuronal activity by providing the enough oxygen and nutrients supply. Research has shown that exercise is related to relieve stress and people who are highly active have low stress levels as compared to those who remain inactive. Exercise is involved in stimulating the production of endorphins and enkephalins hormones in the body which are known as good hormones and they make it easy to manage things. Exercise is also considered improving the function of brain part known as hippocampus, the function of which are storing memories, learning new things and regulating emotions. So an exercise of 2-5 hours per week or 30 minutes 5 times a week will be really helpful for improving your mental health.
